Wrapping Up

I've definitely enjoyed this semester in Lisa Bloomfield's DMAD 200 class.  However, it has to come to a close.  It has been difficult, but I finally made it through.  Thank you Lisa!

W3Schools.com

W3Schools.com

First off, I have to say this website is absolutely amazing.  It provides so much information on HTML5, but also provides much information on CSS, Javascript, and alot of back-end development.  It is a definite must for newer ones (such as myself) that are trying to learn web design.  The definitions and examples are phenomenal.  If you are ever stumped, give this website a go, maybe you will find the answer you were looking for.  I know I have.

Textured Responsive Drop Down Menu

Textured Responsive Drop Down Menu

When I was perusing through some jquery plugins to use for my website, I stumbled across this drop down menu.  It is very well made and adds a nice feel to your website.  The only downside I found is that customizing the color of the menu bar is somewhat difficult, because it forces you to dig through many selectors in order to find it.  However, it is a very clean, and very simplistic menu bar and serves its purpose well.  It is also responsive, so it works on most internet screen sizes (phone, tablet, computer, etc.).

I would have to give it an 8/10.  Definitely recommend if you are looking for something like this.

Kekai Kotaki

Kekai Kotaki's web portfolio is a very nice and simplistic design.  It makes the viewer focus more on his artwork than on the fancy bells and whistles of his website.  It also has a pleasant color scheme that is nice for the eye to look at.

Here is the website: http://www.kekaiart.com/

Wonderful Long Page Website

I recently found a website called http://fueled.com/

The design is so well done, and it carries through the message to the viewer perfectly.  It has some neat features as well.  Its extremely easy to navigate, flows well, and communicates well with the viewer.

2 Design Portfolios

http://ryanscherf.net/

I enjoyed this porfolio because it is a continuous page.  It is very streamlined and pleasing to the eye.  However, there are some points where it becomes very packed with visual information.  Aside from that it is top notch. There are also multiple ways of contacting the designer.

This was in particular a great website especially because of the multi-page layout.  It has alot of visual appeal and is also neat and organized.

Personal Work

I just wanted to share a couple images of some work I've done.  This time I am going to post some character illustrations I worked on.  Hope you enjoy it!

The above image is a bust (or semi-bust) of a character from the online game, Planetside 2. The prominent colors were from a spectrum of blues, browns, grays, with a dash of yellow.

Overall, these two illustrations were incredibly enjoyable to work on, and I am happy with the outcome!

A Website I Visit Alot

One website that I like visiting in particular is a website called "The Best Designs."  This website features alot of other visually interesting websites that can serve as great examples for things you would be interested in designing as well.  It has a very clean, polished look and it is fairly easy to navigate.  They have also incorporated the use of pins, so if you truly like a website and wish to pin it to Pintrest, or something along those lines, you can do so.  It also provides the basic details such as the url, the artist, and so forth.  Overall the websites' design does it good, and does not distract or cause unwanted attention to certain parts.  The only only qualm I have is that I think the header should be a little larger and bold.
